Nude Skin Dip makes it easy to bring out the sculpted volumes of a miniature while preserving the light and shadow structure established during preparation. This ready-to-use marker contains a fluid, translucent Dipping Ink paint. When applied to the model, the paint naturally gathers in recesses while raised surfaces remain lighter, creating depth and definition from the first coat.
Application is handled directly through the size 2 marker nib. It provides a useful balance of coverage and control, allowing different areas of a miniature to be treated efficiently. No brush, wet palette or additional container is required, keeping the setup simple and allowing the painting process to move straight from preparation to application.
For the strongest contrast, apply the paint over a white or light-coloured primer. Another option is to prepare the miniature using the Slapchop technique: establish the main highlights and shadows beforehand with black, grey and white, then apply the Dipping Ink over this value structure. Because the paint remains translucent, the underlying variations continue to show through and contribute to the definition of the finished model.
Before painting, shake the marker thoroughly. Apply the paint directly to the surface and distribute it evenly, limiting repeated work over areas that have already started to dry. When working on smaller details or areas requiring greater precision, the size 2 nib can be replaced with a separately available size 1 replacement nib.
The marker can also be reused once its original contents have been consumed. It can be cleaned and refilled with suitable paints, while replacement kits containing nibs and internal components are available to renew the system. Compatible refills include Dipping Ink, airbrush paints and other acrylic paints with suitable fluidity. Thicker paints can be adjusted with acrylic thinner to achieve the required consistency before refilling.
