Misted Yellow Dip

The marker features a size 2 nib, providing a useful balance between coverage and control when working across different areas of a miniature. It allows larger sections and common shapes to be painted efficiently, while a separately available size 1 replacement nib can be fitted when greater precision is required for smaller areas and fine details.

The surface underneath has a direct influence on the contrast effect. For strong results, Misted Yellow Dip is recommended over a white or light-coloured primer. It can also be applied over a Slapchop-style grisaille, with the highlights and shadows first established using black, grey and white. These underlying changes in value remain visible through the translucent paint and help reinforce the definition of the miniature's volumes.

Before painting, shake the marker thoroughly to homogenise the paint. Apply it directly to the surface and spread the colour evenly, avoiding excessive reworking of areas where the paint has already started to dry. This helps maintain a consistent finish across the miniature.

When the original 6.5 ml of paint has been used, the marker can be cleaned, refilled and reused. It can be filled with Dipping Ink, airbrush paints or other acrylic paints with a suitable fluid consistency. Thicker paints can be adjusted with acrylic thinner until the necessary flow is achieved. With replaceable components and interchangeable nibs, Misted Yellow Dip can become part of a reusable and customisable miniature painting setup.
