Red Opulence Dip

Its marker format keeps the application process simple and efficient. The colour is applied directly from the size 2 nib, so there is no need for a separate brush, wet palette or container. The nib is designed to provide a useful balance between coverage and control, allowing different parts of a miniature to be treated efficiently while maintaining an even distribution. This makes the method practical when working through several models with a consistent painting process.

The surface underneath determines how much of the contrast remains visible. For a strong effect, apply RED OPULENCE DIP over a white or light-coloured primer. It can also be used over a Slapchop-style grisaille, where black, grey and white have first been used to establish the main highlights and shadows. Because the Dipping Ink is translucent, these underlying values remain visible and contribute to stronger contrast and clearer definition across the miniature.

Shake the marker thoroughly before use, then apply the paint directly to the model and spread it evenly. Avoid repeatedly working over sections that have already begun to dry. When greater precision is needed, the size 2 nib can be replaced with a separately available size 1 replacement nib, making smaller areas easier to reach.

The marker can be reused once its original 6.5 ml fill has been consumed. After cleaning, refill it with Dipping Ink, airbrush paint or another acrylic paint with a suitable consistency. Thicker paints can be adjusted with acrylic thinner to achieve the required flow. Replacement kits containing nibs and internal components are also available, allowing the marker to be maintained and used again for different colours, custom mixes and modelling effects.
