Yellow Submarine Dip

Its marker format makes the process particularly direct. The paint is applied straight onto the miniature, with no brush, wet palette or additional container required. The size 2 nib offers a useful combination of coverage and control, making it possible to work efficiently across different surfaces while following the model’s sculpted forms. This can be especially convenient when painting several miniatures as part of the same project.

The base underneath the paint plays an important role in the final appearance. For a stronger contrast effect, apply Yellow Submarine Dip over a white or light-coloured primer. The marker can also be used over a Slapchop preparation, where black, grey and white are applied beforehand to establish the main light and shadow values. The translucent Dipping Ink allows these variations to remain visible through the colour, helping reinforce the definition of the miniature.

Shake the marker thoroughly before use, then apply the paint directly to the surface and spread it evenly. Avoid repeatedly working over areas that have already begun to dry. For smaller details or applications requiring greater precision, the size 2 nib can be replaced with a separately available size 1 nib.

After the original paint has been used, the marker can continue to be part of your painting setup. It can be cleaned, refilled and reused with suitable paints. Replacement kits containing nibs and internal components are available to renew the marker and extend its service life. It can be refilled with Dipping Ink, airbrush paints or other acrylic paints with suitable fluidity. Thicker paints can be adjusted with acrylic thinner to achieve the required consistency.
