Dipping Ink Marker Pack - Cold Tones

This set includes 12 markers, each containing 6.5 ml of ink, fitted with a versatile No. 2 nib. Its balance of coverage and control makes it suitable for painting most of a miniature, while also working well on larger surfaces such as terrain and scenery. The marker format lets you apply paint directly to the model, without needing a brush, wet palette or extra container.

For the strongest contrast, start with a light foundation. Apply Dipping Ink over a white or light-coloured primer to help its tonal variations stand out. The markers also work particularly well over a Slapchop-style underpainting, where black, grey and white establish shadows and highlights before the ink is applied. Prime the marker before use by pumping the nib until it is fully saturated. If the ink flow slows during painting, pump the nib again. For an even finish, avoid repeatedly brushing over areas that have already begun to dry.

Each marker is refillable and reusable, so you can top it up with Dipping Ink of the same colour when the ink runs out. To switch to a different shade, clean the marker thoroughly and fit a fresh replacement nib before refilling it. A No. 1 replacement nib, sold separately, is available for finer details and more precise work.
