Nightshade Purple Dip

The size 2 nib provides a practical balance between coverage and control. Since the paint is applied directly from the marker, there is no need to prepare a brush, wet palette or additional container. This keeps the process straightforward when working on individual miniatures, characters or multiple models for a wargaming army.

For a pronounced contrast effect, begin with a white or light-coloured primer. Nightshade Purple Dip can also be used over a Slapchop grayscale. First establish the main highlights and shadows with black, grey and white, then apply the translucent Dipping Ink. The value structure underneath remains visible through the colour, helping increase contrast and definition without having to recreate those variations during the colour application itself.

Before use, shake the marker thoroughly and apply the paint directly to the surface. Spread it evenly and avoid repeatedly working over areas that have already started to dry. The size 2 nib is suited to general miniature surfaces, while a separately available size 1 replacement nib can be fitted for smaller details or areas requiring greater precision.

The marker is also designed for continued use beyond its initial fill. After cleaning, it can be refilled and reused with Dipping Ink, airbrush paints or other acrylic paints with an appropriate consistency. Thicker formulations can be adjusted with acrylic thinner to achieve the necessary flow. Replacement kits containing nibs and internal components are available to help restore the marker and extend its working life.
