Limelight Dip

The foundation underneath the paint plays an important role. For a pronounced contrast effect, use Limelight Dip over a white or light-coloured primer. It can also be incorporated into a Slapchop workflow, using black, grey and white beforehand to establish the miniature’s main highlights and shadows. Because the Dipping Ink is translucent, these underlying value variations remain visible and contribute to stronger contrast and definition.

The marker format keeps the application direct. The paint is applied straight onto the miniature, without requiring a brush, wet palette or additional container. Its size 2 nib offers a balance between coverage and control, allowing different areas of a model to be treated efficiently. This makes the format suitable for individual characters as well as groups of miniatures being prepared for a wargaming army.

For consistent results, shake the marker thoroughly before use. Apply the paint directly to the surface and distribute it evenly, taking care not to repeatedly work areas that have already begun to dry. The size 2 nib provides the standard balance of control and coverage, while a separately available size 1 nib can be fitted when working on smaller details or tighter areas.

The marker can also be reused once its original contents have been consumed. Clean it, refill it and continue using it with Dipping Ink, airbrush paints or other acrylic paints with an appropriate consistency. Thicker paints can be adjusted with acrylic thinner to achieve a suitable flow. Replacement kits containing nibs and internal components are available to help restore the marker and extend its working life.
