Azure Dip

The size 2 nib provides a practical balance between coverage and control. Because the paint is applied straight from the marker, there is no need for a brush, wet palette or additional container. This makes the format useful for working efficiently across individual miniatures or larger groups of models destined for a wargaming army.

For a stronger contrast effect, apply Azure Dip over a white or light-coloured primer. The marker can also be combined with the Slapchop method. After establishing the miniature’s highlights and shadows with black, grey and white, apply the translucent Dipping Ink over the grayscale preparation. The underlying value variations remain visible through the colour, helping increase contrast and definition across the miniature.

Preparation is simple: shake the marker thoroughly before use, then apply the paint directly to the surface and distribute it evenly. Avoid repeatedly working over areas that have already begun to dry. The size 2 nib is suited to general miniature painting, while a separately available size 1 replacement nib can be used for smaller areas and details where greater precision is required.

Once the original contents have been used, the marker can remain part of your painting setup. It can be cleaned, refilled and reused with Dipping Ink, airbrush paints or other acrylic paints with a suitable consistency. Thicker formulations can be adjusted with acrylic thinner to achieve the required flow. Replacement kits with nibs and internal components are also available to restore the marker and extend its service life.
