The Forges of Saturn is a 48-page supplement for Warhammer: The Horus Heresy that delves into the origins of some of the Imperium’s most iconic technologies. Within its pages, you will uncover the roots of the Terminator armour and the distinctive Saturnine Dreadnought pattern. The book details how this technology was first employed during the Great Crusade, and later refined through Vulkan’s efforts to modernise these designs. It also reveals how each of the eighteen Legions responded to the Primarch’s gift, on the eve of Horus’ fateful betrayal that would plunge the galaxy into civil war.
Alongside this expanded lore, the volume introduces new rules to enhance your battles. Centurions and Command Squads can now be equipped with Saturnine armour, offering new tactical opportunities on the battlefield. The Word Bearers gain access to a unique unit of Warp-tainted Terminators, while the Thousand Sons can wield a new Prosperine Arcana, further highlighting their mystical character. These additions provide new ways to field your armies, reflecting the distinct heritage and identity of each Legion.
To complete the package, The Forges of Saturn presents a set of new missions. A Legendary Mission allows you to recreate the assault of the Salamanders against the entrenched forces of the Death Guard during the Drop Site Massacre. In addition, three asymmetric Offensive Missions challenge players to breach or defend fortified lines. This supplement is a must-have for fans of the Horus Heresy, whether you are drawn to its deep lore or eager for fresh strategic challenges to test your armies on the tabletop.
