This campaign book focuses on some of the key clashes fought in Normandy during the summer of 1944, as British, Canadian, Polish, and other Allied troops faced off against a tenacious and battle-hardened German defence. Alongside a concise historical overview, the book features multiple scenarios inspired by real battles, with accompanying special rules tailored for Bolt Action gameplay.
The book follows the efforts of the British and Canadian forces, beginning with the inland push from the beaches at Gold, Juno, and Sword, through the fierce urban combat around the city of Caen, and concluding with the final push toward Germany. It offers thirteen varied scenarios representing the key moments of this advance, culminating in Operation Tractable. You’ll also find themed army lists for four major forces of the campaign: the Canadian Army, elite Commandos, the fanatic 12th SS Panzer Division ‘Hitlerjugend’, and the Luftwaffe Field Division.
Several historical special characters are also included, such as the valiant Corporal Frederick Topham, a Victoria Cross recipient who risked his life to save others, and the zealous Kurt “Panzer” Meyer, known for his leadership on the Eastern Front. These characters add depth to your armies and provide great opportunities for model conversions, making your force even more immersive and unique on the tabletop.
