The Pteraphon is one of the earliest and most successful applications of biomancy in warfare. Originally developed by the Arrows to slay dragons, it was meant to match the might of the most fearsome creatures of Lindwurm. That ambition was crushed when the Ancient Dragons awoke and laid waste to their creators—but the Directorate is not known for wasting resources. Refined and repurposed, the Pteraphon became something new: a symbiotic armor stripped of its autonomous nervous system and merged with its pilot to grant flight and heightened senses.

Rather than a living beast, the Pteraphon is now a vessel—part organism, part war machine. Once bonded, the pilot gains enhanced mobility and sensory perception, rivaling that of airborne predators. This power comes at a cost: the foreign musculature and alien sensory load demand heavy doses of synaptic amplifiers. These compounds lead almost inevitably to physical exhaustion and neurological dependency. Still, for many, the experience of flight and the clarity of a godlike perspective are worth the price.

Though no longer as massive or devastating as the original anti-dragon version, the Pteraphon remains a terrifying weapon in battle. Its speed and aerial agility allow it to strike where it's least expected, making it ideal for harassment, ambushes, and rapid strikes. Born to challenge ancient legends, it remains a scourge to mortal foes.
