Despite the shared name, the Cult of the Mothman is divided into two factions: the Enlightened and the Followers of the Winged One. The Enlightened are generally peaceful and keep to themselves, avoiding unnecessary conflict. In contrast, the Followers view anyone outside their order with hostility, seeing outsiders as invaders of sacred land. To them, such intruders are vermin, and their doctrine dictates that they must be eradicated.
