It is to this world that Cerastes, Black Apostle of the Word Bearers, returns—once believing Legitur to be his spiritual home. Though his host was crushed by the formidable Palatine Aesura and the relentless Sisters of the Order of the Thorn, Cerastes has lost none of his consuming ambition. Defeat has only fueled his hatred and strengthened his resolve. He plots his revenge in the shadows, gathering fragments of ancient rites and forbidden dogmas to fulfill his purpose.

Cerastes intends to resurrect the Eightfold Plague, reignite the flame of revolt, and defile the very heart of the world he despises. Through the Word of Chaos, he will convert Legitur—not through faith, but through destruction and the brutal revelation of truth.
