The Arcanists, a secretive branch of the Miners and Steamfitters Union, believe that humanity should be free to embrace magic and its potential. Viewed from the outside as anarchists, they are in truth a collective of workers, engineers, and arcane practitioners. To the east of Malifaux City lies the Bayou, a vast swamp where Gremlins have formed a chaotic society mimicking human activities in their own way, from brewing alcohol to armed skirmishes and opportunistic survival in a hostile environment.
