Flexible metallic paints are designed to maintain adhesion and durability even when the painted surface is bent or moved. Unlike standard paints that may crack or flake under stress, these formulations include specific additives that improve flexibility. The Green Stuff World formula is free from latex and vinyl to reduce the risk of allergic reactions and is suitable for a wide range of materials used in cosplay and modelling, such as EVA foam, leather, fabric, 3D prints, and latex.
As with all metallic paints, the visual result is significantly enhanced when applied over a dark base, ideally black. This helps increase pigment depth, boost metallic brightness, and strengthen overall contrast. For best results, a flexible black primer is strongly recommended, especially for projects requiring a smooth, opaque, and highly impactful finish. Proper surface preparation is essential, including cleaning, light sanding if needed, and applying a suitable base coat to ensure strong adhesion.
Application should always be done in very thin layers, particularly the first coat, which acts as the adhesion base. Subsequent layers should be applied while the previous one is still slightly “tacky” to ensure proper bonding. Thick layers or excessive build-up can compromise adhesion and cause surface issues such as wrinkling. Full curing is essential, with a recommended drying time of at least 24 hours, or longer depending on thickness. Airbrush or spray application helps achieve thin, even coats and reduces the risk of peeling. Dilution with water or a dedicated acrylic thinner is recommended to improve application control.
The satin finish offers a balanced result between matte and gloss, producing a subtle reflectivity that enhances details without exaggeration. It is particularly suitable for flexible parts as it resists dirt, withstands handling, and is easy to clean. These paints are flexible but not elastic, meaning they may crack if overstretched. They are not recommended on smooth or non-porous surfaces (glass, ceramic, glossy plastic, bare metal, concrete, stone, wood, silicone, or waxed surfaces) without proper priming. A flexible varnish can be applied as a final protective layer to increase durability. Contents: 1 x 240 ml.
