Union Cavalry & Zouaves Brigade

Designed for the Black Powder – Epic Battles: American Civil War system, this boxed set allows players to build a Union brigade consisting of zouaves, mounted cavalry, dismounted cavalry, and skirmishers.

Zouave regiments, known for their colourful and striking uniforms, took part in many major battles of the conflict. Notable examples include the 14th Brooklyn, the Fire Zouaves, and Duryée’s Zouaves.

Civil War cavalry primarily served in reconnaissance, patrol, and raiding roles rather than traditional shock cavalry charges. Skirmishers provided essential screening duties, protecting and harassing enemy formations.
