Dweghom: Flame Berserkers

‘The harshness and potential dangers of military advancement are such that the majority of Dweghom warriors have given up progression to devote themselves to a lifetime of military service. Swords and shields remain the traditional equipment of these warriors. However, combat against flying opponents quickly dispelled the Dweghom's prejudices against ranged combat. Ballistas, the first ranged weapons developed to fight dragons, remain powerful instruments of death against less formidable foes. Their ease of production and repair makes them a staple of the fortress armoury.

Whether they're shield-wielding warriors or ballista specialists, those who encounter unranked fortress warriors will mainly be up against seasoned veterans who have devoted their lives to military service. The small percentage who aren't career soldiers, however, make up for their lack of experience with ambition and ruthlessness, making them just as dangerous on the battlefield.’
