The Shaltari, an alien race feared for their mastery of space warfare, primarily deploy two types of deadly mines, both feared and despised by their enemies. The most common, called the Shuriken, is designed for pure, relentless destruction. Its advanced armored casing allows it to lock onto targets with precision, identify weak points, and evade enemy detection systems. Its stealthy and lethal design makes it a formidable tool on any space battlefield.
Although considered a dishonorable weapon by some, particularly the Starchiefs, most Shaltari have no hesitation in deploying it against races they consider inferior or unworthy of respect. The rarer variant, the Makibishi Impel, is engineered to slow and disrupt enemy vessels. Upon detonation, it generates an intense hypergravity pulse, deforming superstructures, halting millions of tons of momentum, and even diverting ships from their intended course. This combination of mines gives the Shaltari impressive strategic control in combat engagements.
