British Light Cavalry Brigade

British light cavalry earned a reputation for “galloping at anything,” and while perhaps somewhat exaggerated, they certainly did not hesitate to engage enemy cavalry — including the massive armoured French heavy cavalry. British riders had immense confidence in both themselves and their horses.

Splendidly dressed, the British Hussars wore some of the most flamboyant uniforms of the era, while the more restrained Light Dragoons considered themselves every bit the equal of their colourful comrades. Supporting them is the dependable Royal Horse Artillery armed with fast-moving 9-pounder guns.
