The expansion introduces six new factions, each equipped with its own Battle Board and unique tactical identity. Command the disciplined Macedonians, the mighty Persian Empire, the armies of India, the independent Greek City States, the fierce Thracians or the ambitious Successor Kingdoms, each offering distinctive strategies inspired by history.

Age of Alexander also expands the battlefield with a range of new rules and unit types. Deploy heavily armoured cataphracts, unleash towering war elephants, field Indian chariots or charge into enemy formations with devastating scythed chariots.
