Within the City States of Conquest, some heroes refuse to let death bring their story to an end. The Terataur Prime embodies that choice through a striking fusion of human consciousness and mechanical might. Part of the Prime Artisan Series, this imposing model combines a distinctive narrative with a substantial centrepiece for the tabletop and the painting desk.
Terataur Primes originate from commanders and decorated heroes whose mortal bodies have been damaged beyond the ability of the City States' surgeons to repair. Rather than accepting a heroic death, some are offered the chance to pursue a form of continued existence. Through the power of phlogiston, their consciousness is transcribed onto thin sheets of metal before being reconstructed by the Theurgists using tekne, intricate clockwork mechanisms and networks of crystals.
The resulting consciousness is not a perfect restoration of the original mind. What survives the process is instead a copy shaped by the fragments that endured the transcription. Once integrated into a custom-built Terataur body, this remnant of a former hero gains a mechanical form capable of delivering far greater strength and resilience than its mortal body ever could.
For painters, the Terataur Prime offers a substantial subject filled with contrasting materials, from metal and clockwork to crystals and mechanical components. On the battlefield, the model can be fielded as a Polemarch within a City States army, giving this unusual creation both narrative and gaming significance.
Blending transcribed consciousness with mechanical power, the Terataur Prime brings a compelling story to a City States collection while providing painters with an imposing and richly detailed model to work on.
