For some warriors of Saint Lazarus, their grim fate does not diminish their will to fight. It intensifies it. The Order Martyrs of St Lazarus serve as an aggressive vanguard for the Hundred Kingdoms, hurling themselves ahead of the main force to strike enemy formations before the battle has fully developed.
The sacrament of Saint Lazarus affects these warriors with particular intensity. Kleon’s blessing manifests with exceptional strength, while an unknown interaction causes their disease to progress at an accelerated rate. Stronger and more impulsive than their Penitents of St Lazarus brethren, the Martyrs channel their condition into relentless violence on the battlefield.
In Conquest: First Blood, this translates into an aggressive approach focused on breaking into enemy formations. The Martyrs charge forward with a ferocity that allows them to continue their assault rather than settling into a prolonged exchange. They are built around momentum, pressure and the destructive impact of their initial engagement.
In Conquest: The Last Argument of Kings, the Martyrs operate as light Vanguard troops. Deployed ahead of the main battle line, they can threaten opposing formations early and put particular pressure on units relying on shield walls. Their battlefield role makes them a strong fit for players who want to dictate the pace of the opening engagements.
The kit also offers a choice during assembly: the miniatures can be built as either Order Martyrs of St Lazarus or Penitents of St Lazarus, allowing the same kit to represent two different Saint Lazarus configurations.
Combining speed, aggression and an advanced battlefield position, the Martyrs of Saint Lazarus give the Hundred Kingdoms a force designed to seize the initiative, while the dual kit provides flexibility when building your army.
