Within the ruins of Frostgrave, each player controls a wizard from one of ten magic colleges, leading an expedition accompanied by an apprentice and several henchmen. These companions range from stealthy thieves to bandits and heavily armored knights, offering diverse tactical options. The goal is to explore the ruins, discover ancient artifacts, and engage in strategic battles with rival mages. The variety of miniatures and units allows players to customize their expeditions and create unique encounters every game.
Frostgrave also offers an extensive magic system, with wizards able to learn up to 80 different spells.
