This high-quality lacquer-based paint features an advanced chemical formula and superior color accuracy compared to other brands. It flows smoothly through an airbrush, adheres well to surfaces, and dries to a soft, even finish. It also offers excellent compatibility with a wide range of weathering products.
This shade replicates RAL 8000, part of the German Army’s first tropical camouflage scheme (Tropen 1), used in Africa from March 1941 to March 1942. According to official regulations, RAL 8000 was to cover approximately two-thirds of the vehicle’s surface, with the remaining third painted in RAL 7008. Both photographic and archival evidence confirm that tropical-painted vehicles were also used on the Eastern Front.
Notably, 38 Tiger I tanks delivered between December 1942 and February 1943 to the Grossdeutschland, SS-Leibstandarte, SS-Das Reich, and SS-Totenkopf divisions were painted in this tropical scheme, visually matching those deployed in North Africa.
For best results, dilute using RC701/RC702 High Compatibility Thinner or other thinners formulated for lacquer-based paints.
