Flows smoothly through an airbrush and can be thinned with RC701/RC702 High Compatibility Thinner or other thinners designed for lacquer-based paints.

This shade is used as an upper surface color in the SEA (South-East Asia) camouflage scheme introduced by the USAF TAC shortly after the outbreak of the Vietnam War and used until the 1980s. It also represents an upper surface color in the IAF (Israeli Air Force) standard desert scheme from 1967 until the 2020s on numerous aircraft (A-4/TA-4, F-4E, F-15I, F-16A/B/C/D/I, Mirage IIIC, Nesher, late Kfir C2 & C7, Ouragan, Mystere, Super Mystere, Vautour II, Fouga Magister, Do 27, Do 28, etc.).

The shade is also used for upper surfaces in SEA-based camouflage schemes by the FAA (Fuerza Aérea Argentina) during the Falklands conflict (Mirage IIIEA, IAI Dagger, C-130/KC-130) and by the FAP (Força Aérea Portuguesa) in the 1980s on A-7P, Fiat G.91, Alpha Jet, SA 330, Alouette II & III, AW101, etc. Additionally, it can be applied in ad-hoc desert schemes on some USMC helicopters during the 1990-1991 Gulf War and in some US Navy aggressor schemes (F/A-18B, F-16A).
