British Army Support Group (HQ, Mortar & MMG)

After years of fighting in North Africa and the Far East, the British Army returned to Europe, spearheading the invasion of Sicily and Italy. In 1944, they played a key role in the D-Day landings in Normandy before pushing deep into Germany and achieving final victory.

British soldiers made effective use of the water-cooled Vickers machine gun, the same weapon their fathers wielded in the Great War, as well as the 3-inch mortar, a battlefield staple for effective indirect fire.
