Zis-30 Tank Destroyer
As Nazi Germany advanced deep into Soviet territory in 1941, the Red Army was in urgent need of mobile anti-tank capabilities. The solution came in the form of the ZiS-30, a hybrid vehicle that combined the rugged Komsomolets artillery tractor with the powerful ZiS-2 divisional anti-tank gun. Just over 100 of these improvised tank destroyers were quickly converted to meet the immediate frontline need.
The first ZiS-30s were deployed to the Western and Southern Fronts in September 1941, where they performed well against German panzers. Although its design looked awkward and left the crew exposed, the ZiS-2 gun could, in theory, fire up to 25 rounds per minute—though actual combat conditions often meant less. The original ball-mounted hull machine gun of the Komsomolets was retained for close-in infantry defense, adding to its versatility in battle.
This set includes one resin and metal self-propelled gun, a Bolt Action stat card, vehicle damage markers, full-color waterslide decals, and a Bolt Action order die. Ideal for collectors and players alike, the ZiS-30 brings a piece of Soviet wartime ingenuity to your tabletop, reflecting the desperate measures and resourcefulness of the early Eastern Front. A unique and historically significant addition to any Soviet Bolt Action force.
