The deployment of USMC Grizzly medium walkers to the Pacific theatre presented a serious tactical challenge for Japanese forces. Developing an equivalent medium walker entirely from scratch would have required far more time than the situation allowed. Once again, Imperial leadership turned to their Axis allies, who agreed to export a limited number of Pz.Kpfw. VII Heuschrecke walkers stripped of their gravitic jump assist modules.
Inspection of the first units to arrive in Japan revealed an unexpected advantage. The removal of the gravitic modules significantly reduced the overall weight of the machine, resulting in increased speed and agility. These improvements made the walker highly adaptable, well suited to both frontline combat roles and reconnaissance duties where mobility and responsiveness were critical.
More recently, Japanese advances in reverse-engineering Axis-supplied components have enabled the production of a fully Imperial-built variant. Known as the Inago, this version is now manufactured in the Home Islands while retaining the core strengths of the original design. This miniature is a thematic and versatile addition to any Japanese force, combining speed, flexibility, and strong narrative flavour. The set contains one resin and metal miniature, supplied unassembled and unpainted, allowing full freedom for assembly and finishing.
