Artillery – Black Powder (War of the Spanish Succession)
In Black Powder, artillery during the early modern period represents a powerful but still developing battlefield tool. In the War of the Spanish Succession, most guns were heavy, cumbersome, and difficult to reposition once deployed. As a result, artillery batteries were typically static for the duration of a battle. Skilled gunners were in short supply, meaning infantrymen were often seconded from the ranks to assist in operating and manoeuvring the guns under fire.
This boxed set allows players to build three complete artillery pieces with a high degree of customisation. Gun barrels can be assembled as either 8- or 12-pounder variants, allowing commanders to tailor their firepower. Each gun is served by four multi-pose crew members with interchangeable head and arm options, providing flexibility in pose and appearance. The figures are designed as generic European artillerymen suitable for representing multiple armies of the Marlburian period.
The set also includes a range of scenic battlefield accessories to enhance basing and bring your artillery positions to life. These elements help recreate the atmosphere of active gun batteries in the heat of battle. In addition, three mounted officers are included, offering further command options either as artillery leaders or as independent brigade or regimental commanders within your force.
