Amid relentless rain, churned mud and the thunder of artillery, British infantry regiments faced Napoleon’s armies one final time during the dramatic Hundred Days Campaign of 1815. The Battle of Waterloo would ultimately bring an end to more than two decades of warfare across Europe.
Positioned along Wellington’s ridge line, British Line Infantry withstood repeated assaults from the French Army throughout the long and brutal battle. Supported by artillery batteries and cavalry formations, these battle-hardened veterans of the Peninsular War once again demonstrated the discipline and resilience that had become synonymous with the British Army.
For Black Powder, this set is ideal for recreating the famous British infantry regiments that fought during Waterloo and the wider 1815 campaign. Their steady firing lines, coordinated volleys and stubborn defence make them a defining element of Allied Napoleonic armies.
The easy-build miniatures are accompanied by a full command group, allowing the regiment to take pride of place in historical scenarios ranging from Quatre Bras to the climactic struggle at Waterloo itself.
The iconic red uniforms, regimental standards and command details make this unit especially striking once assembled and painted for the tabletop. It also provides an excellent foundation for building a Waterloo-era British army.
Standing firm through the chaos of battle, these British regiments played their part in the final defeat of Napoleon and the closing chapter of the Napoleonic Wars.
