Black Powder – Epic Battles: Waterloo – Blücher’s Prussian Army allows players to recreate the decisive intervention of the Prussian forces during the Hundred Days campaign and the Battle of Waterloo.
Designed for the Black Powder – Epic Battles: Waterloo system, this starter set features the Prussian army commanded by Field Marshal Gebhard Leberecht von Blücher, marching to support Wellington’s Allied forces against Napoleon Bonaparte.
After Napoleon returned to France and launched the Hundred Days campaign, King Frederick William III recalled Blücher from retirement to command the Prussian Army of the Lower Rhine. Hastily assembled, the army contained many Landwehr militia troops, often poorly trained and inadequately equipped.
Despite suffering defeat at the Battle of Ligny, where Blücher himself was injured and trapped beneath his fallen horse, the Prussians returned at Waterloo to play a decisive role in Napoleon’s final downfall.
This boxed set provides an excellent foundation for recreating the dramatic arrival of the Prussians at Waterloo and leading Blücher’s forces to victory over the Grande Armée.
