Black Powder – Epic Battles: Waterloo – Blücher’s Prussian Army allows players to recreate the decisive intervention of the Prussian forces during the Hundred Days campaign and the Battle of Waterloo.
After Napoleon returned to Paris and launched the Hundred Days campaign, King Frederick William III of Prussia recalled Field Marshal Blücher from retirement in Silesia and tasked him with confronting the resurgent French Emperor. Blücher took command of the Army of the Lower Rhine and marched west to join the Anglo-Dutch allies.
Unfortunately, the Prussian army had been assembled in haste and entered the campaign poorly equipped and inadequately trained. More than a third of the army consisted of Landwehr militia, some of whom marched barefoot into battle. Defeated at Ligny by Napoleon himself, the Prussians would soon have an opportunity for redemption at Waterloo.
Designed for the Black Powder Epic Battles system, this boxed set provides a substantial Prussian force featuring line infantry, Landwehr, Jägers, cavalry, and artillery.
An excellent starter force for recreating the dramatic arrival of the Prussians at Waterloo and taking part in Napoleon’s final defeat.
