At the height of the Hundred Years' War, the English army became famous across Europe for its devastating longbowmen and heavily equipped men-at-arms. This set captures the period from the Battle of Agincourt in 1415, where Henry V led the English forces, to the Siege of Orléans in 1429, the event that would become a turning point in the conflict.

This box contains 36 highly detailed miniatures representing the English army between 1415 and 1429. It includes both the renowned English archers and the armoured nobles who fought alongside them, showcasing the early development of full plate armour during the late medieval period.

The set provides 24 archers and 12 men-at-arms. The archers are depicted in a variety of battlefield poses, including firing, drawing and moving, creating a cohesive unit ready to bring the power of the longbow to the tabletop.

The men-at-arms wear the distinctive rounded and “globular” armour styles that marked the first flourishing of full plate protection. The miniatures cover the rapid changes in armour design during this fourteen-year period, from early bascinets with aventail tails to the fully developed great bascinet, including evolving skull-shaped and rounded visors.

Designed with flexibility in mind, the kit offers numerous customisation options. Separate visors and decorative English-style orles allow for greater variety, while the proportions of the armoured bodies make them compatible with certain weapons from the Wars of the Roses range, helping bridge the transition into the 1440s.

Although presented as an English force, these miniatures can also represent French armies of the same era, as the main differences between the two sides often came from heraldry, decoration and battlefield equipment choices.
