Driven from the comforts of civilisation in the wild north of Mannheim, only the most powerful, ruthless and ingenious of shamans have survived. Their gatherings at the sacred stones of Aarheim have resumed, albeit only under threat of reprisal from the Graymane, the only Einherjar not defied by the Valkyries.
The young Gifted men are slowly drifting back into their orbit and the refined knowledge of these powerful elders is being passed on to a new generation. With their increased visibility and activity, some captains have even begun to take them on raids.
Long forgotten and fallen into disuse, a shaman's mist-weaving powers are rapidly regaining the respect of field commanders.
The ability to calm the weather is of considerable help when crossing the White Desert, while mists help their forces to close in on their enemies undetected.Even the ancient tradition of rune divination, long persecuted by the Valkyries, is placed at the service of the Nordic war machine.Under these double blessings, the Nordic captains who brave the displeasure of the Cult achieve considerable success, their forces striking where their enemy is weakest, under cover of mist and shadows.It remains to be seen whether this recent success will allow the shamans to regain some of their former influence, or spark a bloody internal conflict with the increasingly restless Valkyrie cults.
