Infantry weapons teams are a vital part of any Bolt Action army, providing considerable tactical flexibility. Among the most common are sniper teams, anti-tank teams, and flamethrower teams, each posing unique challenges for your opponent to overcome.
The Panzerschreck was a German development of the American bazooka, first encountered in North Africa. It fired a large-caliber shaped-charge rocket capable of penetrating heavy armor. Early teams wore protective capes and masks due to the intense backblast, but later models were fitted with a blast shield, giving the weapon its distinctive look. By 1944, the Panzerschreck and disposable Panzerfaust had replaced the Panzerbüchse 39 anti-tank rifle.
During the Battle of Stalingrad, Soviet snipers inflicted heavy casualties on the Wehrmacht, prompting the Germans to train specialist marksmen. These snipers used various rifles, including the standard KAR-98K and the semi-automatic Gewehr 43, all equipped with the high-quality ZF39 telescopic sight and precision-made ammunition. Flamethrowers, or Flammenwerfer, were widely used throughout the war, often against buildings and fortifications. Late in the war, a lighter, single-use flamethrower called the Eintossflammenwerfer was developed, though it is unclear if it was ever used in combat.
