Neodymium (NdFeB) magnets are the most powerful permanent magnets available today. The material is obtained by sintering and then cut to the required dimensions.
Grades such as N35 or N52 indicate the quality of the material used. The higher the number after the ‘N’, the more powerful the magnet. This determines :
The density of magnetic energy stored per unit volume
Maximum operating temperature
All our magnets can withstand a maximum temperature of 80°C (176°F). Grade N52 represents the highest level of performance currently available.
In terms of strength, for magnets of different grades, volume is often the determining factor. For example, a larger magnet may be more powerful than a magnet with higher magnetisation but smaller size.
Note on the force of attraction: The values are taken from internal tests carried out under ideal conditions (central axis, a single magnet, no external force).
