The Shading Medium 18ML gives painters a simple way to turn any Tone Pro colour into a more transparent paint for shading and glazing techniques. It lowers the pigment density without changing the paint’s flow or finish, allowing you to reduce colour intensity while retaining the handling characteristics of the original range.

Tone Pro paints are recognised for their strong pigmentation and intense coverage, even when working with colours that can normally be difficult to apply evenly. While this makes them effective for solid basecoats, some techniques call for a much more controlled level of transparency. The Shading Medium lets you adapt the same Tone Pro colours to those applications rather than relying solely on dedicated shades.

Mix the medium with your chosen colour to reduce its pigment concentration and create a softer, more translucent result. The paint retains its established flow and finishing properties, making the transition from opaque coverage to shading or glazing straightforward while keeping the behaviour of the Tone Pro formula.
