Ultramar Blue 3 (12ML)

The Tone Pro formula delivers intense colours with strong one-coat coverage, including shades that can otherwise be more demanding to apply. Ultramar Blue 3 is ready to use straight from the pot, while its self-levelling properties help create an even finish across the miniature.

Each Tone Pro colour is split into five shades, from 1 as the darkest to 5 as the lightest. Shade 3 is therefore the midpoint of the Ultramar Blue progression. It can connect the deeper tones of Ultramar Blue 1 and 2 with the brighter stages 4 and 5, or simply be used by itself when a more balanced level of brightness is preferred.

Its versatility means that the same colour can also be used throughout different stages of a painting session:

• Basecoating to establish an even foundation
• Shading to add variation and depth
• Glazing for gradual colour adjustments
• Highlighting selected raised areas and forms
• Drybrushing to pick out texture and sculpted detail

As the central shade of the Ultramar Blue sequence, Ultramar Blue 3 gives the range a versatile middle stage. Work with it independently for a balanced result, or combine it with the other four shades to create a measured progression from the deepest Ultramar Blue to its brightest finish.
