It flows smoothly through an airbrush, adheres perfectly to surfaces, and dries to a soft finish. Its excellent durability allows for the use of all types of weathering products. This paint can be thinned with RC701/RC702 High Compatibility Thinner or other thinners designed for lacquer-based paints.
It was used to paint German Army vehicles and equipment in the second tropical scheme (Tropen 2), intended for use in Africa and Crete from March 1942 to February 1943. According to army regulations, RAL 7027 should cover one-third of a vehicle’s surface in irregular patches with soft edges, while the rest is painted in RAL 8020. Both photographic and documentary evidence confirm that tropical colors were also used on the Eastern Front.
