This paint represents a color variant listed in the 1938 edition of the L.Dv. 521/1 regulation color chart.
It was the standard camouflage color for the lower surfaces of operational Luftwaffe aircraft, used on fighters from 1936 until mid-1941, and on bombers, attack aircraft, reconnaissance planes, maritime aircraft, and transport aircraft from 1936 until late 1944.
