This textured roller is designed for shaping and decorating all types of clays, putties, and modeling pastes with precision. Made from transparent PMMA plastic, it is non-toxic, non-stick, and easy to handle. Measuring 14.5 cm in length and 2.5 cm in diameter, it’s ideal for applying consistent textures to sculpted surfaces. Whether you’re building miniatures, terrain bases, or artistic details, this roller helps achieve clean and professional-looking results.
To use, knead your material according to the manufacturer’s recommendations. It’s best to first smooth out the surface with a plain roller before applying texture. Then, roll slowly and apply even pressure across the surface. Depending on the material, lightly moistening the roller can help prevent sticking. This tool works especially well with polymer clays like Fimo or Super Sculpey, and can be used directly on MDF bases baked at 150°C for 15 minutes.
The roller is also suitable for epoxy putties like Green Stuff and Milliput. With Green Stuff, moisture, talcum powder, or modeling vaseline helps reduce stickiness. For Milliput, avoid over-wetting and consider mixing it 50/50 with children’s modeling clay to make it easier to work with. After each use, clean the roller thoroughly with warm water and a fine brush to preserve detail. Not a toy—this tool should only be used by children under adult supervision.
