Also known as the Type 91 broad-gauge railroad tractor, the So-Mo is notable for its ability to quickly switch between road and rail. It reaches around 25 miles per hour on roads and nearly twice that on railroads. Fielded by both the Imperial Japanese Army and the Special Naval Landing Forces (SNLF) during World War II, the six-wheel-drive So-Mo also served in the 1937 Japanese invasion of China. The vehicle has no integral weapons, but the crew often carries a 7.7mm machine gun fired through the observation ports in the turret.
Despite its light LMG armament, the So-Mo provides a relatively inexpensive armored car for a Japanese force, with the added benefit of transporting six infantrymen across the battlefield. It is particularly effective on battlefields with railroads, combining mobility and transport capacity to enhance tactical options.
The box contains one resin & metal Type 91 So-Mo Armoured Car in its road configuration, a decal sheet, and vehicle damage markers. This versatile vehicle enriches your collection and offers new tactical possibilities for your Japanese forces in Bolt Action.
