The Nachtalben are the result of human test subjects exposed to Rift energy, grotesquely warping them while leaving all cognitive faculties intact. Terrifyingly, this suggests that the subjects were likely voluntary, given their continued adherence to military discipline. Their mutated appearance contrasts sharply with their effectiveness, making them units that are both disciplined and deadly. Each miniature brings this unsettling blend of mutation and tactical skill to life on the battlefield.
These creatures are unnaturally fast, with heightened reflexes. Unlike other Axis Rift troops, Nachtalben carry weapons and fight more like conventional infantry. They are equipped with StG 44Z rifles, light machine guns, and Panzerfausts, demonstrating lethal effectiveness at medium and close ranges. Certain units have displayed a limited ability to temporarily shape-shift, adding an unpredictable element to any engagement in which they participate.
On the battlefield, Nachtalben specialize in infiltration, ambushes, and disrupting enemy lines under the cover of darkness. They move with unnatural ease through difficult terrain, imposing a constant and unpredictable threat.
