Since the opening of the Dresden Rift, Europe enters a new era of total war. Unspeakable horrors pour from the heart of the newly emergent Neu Republik, shattering what little balance remains in the conflict. The Allied plan to bring hostilities in Europe to an end collapses, and the entire world now pays the price of that failure. The war settles into a brutal stalemate, where every advance is met by unfamiliar threats and an ever-increasing level of destruction. The Rift quickly becomes the focus of every nation’s ambition, representing both an uncontrollable danger and an opportunity of immense strategic value.
Technological progress, already pushed to extremes by the pressure of war, accelerates even further through the power unleashed by the Rifts. Weapons of unprecedented destructive capacity appear on the battlefield, deployed with growing frequency by every belligerent force. Europe is left in ruins, reduced to shattered cities and scorched landscapes where no side can secure a decisive advantage. It becomes clear that victory no longer depends solely on conventional military strength, but on control of the Rifts themselves. Dresden, the heart of Axis power, stands as the ultimate objective within the fortress of Festung Europa.
Festung Europa is the first supplement in a new series for Konflikt ’47, detailing the background, history, and key characters of the Rift War. This volume focuses on the European theatre and the combined efforts of the British-US alliance and the Soviet Bloc to wrest control of the Dresden Rift from the Axis. Across its full-colour pages, it offers striking photography, artwork, and illustrations, alongside timelines, short stories, and game scenarios. New miniature releases will accompany each supplement, representing the heroes, horrors, monsters, and mechs brought to life within its pages.
