It can be thinned with RC701/RC702 High Compatibility Thinner or other thinners designed for lacquer-based paints.
Used for painting German Army vehicles and equipment from July 1937 to July 1940, this shade served as a complementary camouflage color to RAL 7021 Dunkelgrau. According to official regulations, RAL 7017 was meant to cover approximately one-third of the vehicle’s surface in irregular patches with soft edges. However, historical evidence suggests that many military vehicles were painted exclusively in Dunkelgrau, particularly during the Polish Campaign.
