This shade is used for painting the lower surfaces of US Navy carrier-based aircraft from 1955 to the early 1980s. It also represents the top fuselage color of US Navy patrol (ASW/AEW) aircraft from October 1958 to May 1993, and the upper surfaces of US Navy SH-3 Sea King helicopters from 1971 through the 1980s. Additionally, it is used for non-cockpit interior surfaces of USAF aircraft (from the 1960s to today) and US Navy aircraft (from 1956 to 1993).
