British Airborne Support Group (HQ, Mortar & MMG)

HQ
The officer ranks were predominantly drawn from the upper-middle classes: educated at public schools, instilled with a sense of duty, empire, and resolve that’s hard to imagine today. An officer unit includes the officer himself, along with up to two attendants.

Field Medic
The field medic offers the best chance for a wounded soldier to survive serious injuries and ensures lightly wounded soldiers are rapidly returned to combat.

Medium Machine Gun Team
The Vickers machine gun, a .303 water-cooled weapon, provided critical fire support for infantry units. Originally designed in World War I, it was highly effective at laying down continuous fire over long distances during World War II.

Medium Mortar Team
The 3-inch mortar provided support at ranges of up to 3,000 yards, depending on the projectile used. A typical crew consisted of three men: a gunner, a loader, and an ammo carrier.
