During the German occupation of France, the renowned Maquis – the French Resistance – launched daring guerrilla operations against Nazi forces. Led by former officers or charismatic local leaders, these brave individuals took enormous risks to sabotage enemy logistics and infrastructure. Their actions proved vital during the Battle of Normandy, disrupting German reinforcements and contributing to the success of the Allied landings.
Supplied by Allied airdrops, the Resistance gained access to heavier weapons that significantly enhanced their firepower. This set includes a Vickers medium machine gun and a 3" mortar, providing key support weapons to help French partisans hold their ground against better-equipped German troops. These additions allow for historically grounded gameplay that reflects the intensity of their struggle.
The figures in this set represent the French Forces of the Interior (FFI), but they are equally suitable for other resistance movements across Europe, such as in Poland or the Soviet Union. This set includes an HQ team, a medium mortar team, a medium machine gun team, a plastic German weapons sprue, and plastic bases. Models are supplied unassembled and unpainted.
