Korean War: Chinese Pva Weapons Teams
Infantry weapons teams are a crucial component in any Bolt Action force, bringing essential tactical options to the battlefield. Light mortars, flamethrowers, and anti-tank teams provide players with multiple tools to challenge enemy strategies and break defensive lines.
Chinese forces made notable use of flamethrowers during the early stages of the Second Sino-Japanese War. These weapons proved highly effective at clearing fortified positions and were sourced from Germany, the Western Allies, the Soviet Union, and also captured from Japanese stocks. Flamethrower teams were commonly integrated into both infantry and engineer squads.
The American 2.36” Bazooka was easily reverse-engineered and adopted widely. While it was highly effective against the lighter tanks of the Chinese Civil War, it was less suited to handling heavily armored U.S. tanks. However, it could still pose a serious threat to M24 Chaffees and M4 Shermans. The PVA’s light mortar arsenal included Soviet 50mm mortars, captured Japanese “knee mortars,” and later, domestically produced versions of the American 60mm mortar. Each rifle company typically fielded a three-mortar platoon battery.
