For best results, smooth the surface first using a plain roller before applying the textured one. Depending on the material, lightly wetting the roller may help reduce sticking. Roll slowly while applying even pressure to ensure consistent patterns. Once the texture is applied, let it dry or bake it according to the material’s requirements. Polymer clays like Fimo or Super Sculpey can be baked directly on MDF bases at 150°C for 15 minutes.

This roller is compatible with most modeling materials. For sticky epoxies like Green Stuff, reduce adhesion by moistening the roller or applying talcum powder or modeling vaseline. Milliput is also suitable, and its texture can be improved by blending it with children's modeling clay at a 50/50 ratio. It’s crucial to clean the roller thoroughly after each use with water and a brush to preserve its intricate detail.
